Founded in Seattle, Washington in the summer of 2012, The Dress Theory remains the destination for brides searching for a handpicked, edited, and inspired selection of effortless and unforgettable wedding dresses that reflect their personal style by hard-to-find and highly sought-after designers. We are committed to the belief that finding your wedding dress should be a personalized, memorable experience. A professional stylist and a beautiful, intimate setting are the ultimate power couple in our eyes. When it comes to our gowns, we seek out designers with a story and process we believe in. We go directly to many of their offices to see exactly how our gowns are made and to meet the designers and teams behind the magic personally. We seek out dresses made with care, detail, and fairness, and the majority of our collection is made across the United States, Canada, Israel, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. Our selection is our shortlist and the best of the best (because, curation) of everything the modern, design-focused bride requires.

We have three, sister-owned bridal boutique locations: Seattle, Nashville, San Diego; cities that are near and dear to our family’s heart. That's us in the photo! We’re driven by a love of brides and a love of personal style. We open our arms wide to brides who aren’t afraid to be themselves. We understand and sympathize with your fears of looking like every other bride on your wedding day, and if you're dreaming of a romantic, fashion-forward, modern, eclectic, or bohemian vision our tireless and passionate stylists will work with you to create your dream wedding day look. Unique and unforgettable are two of our favorite words.
We travel throughout NYC, the west coast, and Europe to create our constantly evolving collection. Brides don't have to worry about everyone else getting married in the same dress as them. We've been told we have a magical eye for fresh, new styles and trends that are still timeless and will look gorgeous in your photos in 50, 60, 70 years. Yes, that is possible! Our gowns, brides, and boutiques have been featured around the web and in print including Vogue, Brides Magazine (we were named one of the "Top Bridal Salons in the US"), Hello May Magazine, Green Wedding Shoes, Style Me Pretty, Refinery 29, and more. We are open by appointment only to ensure the best service seven days a week at all three boutique locations. Our gowns currently range from approximately $2000 to $8000, with most between $2500 to $4500. We highly recommend checking out our designer pages before scheduling so you can get a feel for our boutiques and the style of dresses we carry as we specialize in light, effortless, unstructured gowns in non-traditional shapes (i.e. we don't really have ball-gowns or defined "mermaid" shapes).
