The Dress Theory + Wedding Paper Divas {Style Guide}

Dahlia Wedding Dress by Rue de Seine Bridal styled with 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

We had the pleasure of meeting and personalizing already gorgeous invitations with the wonderful ladies from Wedding Paper Divas earlier this month in San Francisco. They hosted a beautiful brunch party and led us in fun DIY projects brides can use to personalize their Wedding Paper Diva invitation suites. The concept was brilliant! When I was planning my wedding two years ago, I loved the idea of DIY invites but luckily my sister advised that would take more time and energy than I actually had to give to such a project. The idea of adding a little DIY touch to WPD invites would have been the perfect solution! My personal favorite was adding a paint splatter pattern with Gold Leaf Paint to a black and white invitation. I'm a total sucker for anything gold, and I loved how natural and abstract it felt! Here are two other DIY touches they have featured on their blog before for our brides to try at home, polka dot envelope liners and ribbon bows.

At the DIY with WPD Brunch (check out fun instagrams from the event with #diywithwpd) we had fun chatting about how our wedding dresses were a natural and beautiful fit with the aesthetic of Wedding Paper Divas wedding invites! Next thing you know, we're planning up Style Guides pairing our Dress Theory gowns with their WPD invites! When you are a fashion fanatic and style obsessed bride-to-be like most our stylish Dress Theory brides are, keeping your unique wedding dress in mind while selecting your wedding invitations is a wonderful idea! It can make the decision actually a lot easier to use your dress to guide the process, plus your wedding and any concept you might be using will seem so much more cohesive. Making really intentional style choices for the entire event will really take the experience to the next level! There were so many invitation suites on WPD that were such a perfect fit for a lot of our gowns, I was so impressed! The leaf pattern on the Darling Leaves invites was such an exact match I almost couldn't believe it! So perfect for our bohemian and fashion forward brides here in the PNW.

You probably already know shopping for your wedding dress is recommended to begin at least 6 to 9 months before your wedding date. This makes it right on target for ordering wedding invitations and letting your dress style help guide your choice as wedding planning timelines suggest ordering your invites 4 to months before your big day. These are not rules set in stone, but advise and recommendations based on years of experiences as vendors and planners to help make sure the bride and groom have little to not stress, can't get what they want due to timing, or have to pay major rush fees. Wedding timelines are here to help! If you're unsure about how to plan your invites and other paper products, The team over at Wedding Paper Divas put together a wonderful and very informative checklist and timeline to help out their brides and grooms. Take a peek!
